Building Green TV Show Set to Air on PBSA new weekly television series about green building is set to air on PBS affiliate states across the country starting June 5. The show, hosted by its creator, Kevin Contreras, will look at various ways to make homes and other buildings "greener," using, "earth-friendly techniques and materials that are better for people as well as the planet," according to the company. Contreras will illustrate the various aspects of green building using the design and construction of his own green home in Santa Barbara, Calif. Show episodes will follow the progress of the home. "Many people don't realize that buildings cause more CO2 emissions than cars," Contreras said. "In fact, buildings and their construction account for nearly half of all greenhouse gas emissions and energy consumed in this country each year. By providing people access to information about how they can build greener, I believe we can better sustain our planet - one home at a time," he added. According to Roper's Green Gauge Report, 50% of American adults say they would do more for the environment if they knew what to do. The show and companion website are intended to provide that information. For more information on the show and green building, please visit: www.buildinggreentv.com. |
