ASHRAE Revised User's Manual Makes Saving Energy Easier


The User's Manual for the ASHRAE/IESNA energy conservation standard has been fully revised to make it easier to use and is now available from ASHRAE.

The User's Manual for ANSI/ASHRAE/IESNA Standard 90.1-2007, "Energy Standard for Buildings Except Low-Rise Residential Buildings," has been extensively revised to incorporate 44 addenda to the standard since the 2004 edition. Updates reflect and illustrate the changes in every portion of the 90.1 Standard and Appendix G, ASHRAE says.

The manual provides detailed instruction, calculation examples and compliance forms for the design of commercial and high-rise residential buildings. It includes sections of administration and enforcement, building envelope, HVAC systems, service water heating, power, lighting, the energy cost budget method and the building performance rating method.
