New CD Helps Contractors Make Essential Business Calculations


A new "Understanding Overhead" calculator designed to guide contractors in understanding and controlling business costs has been released by the Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors (PHCC) National Association Educational Foundation.

Available on CD, this business management tool guides users through the process of calculating a selling price that covers all expenses and provides the net profit percentage they desire, according to a PMCC news release.

The CD includes Excel spreadsheets that enable users to calculate:
  • Direct labor costs
  • Overhead costs
  • Break-even rate
  • Profitable selling prices
  • Monthly and annual net profit goals
  • Target revenue and profit goals.

The "Understanding Overhead" CD is available for $99 for members and $129 for non-members from the PHCC website, www.phccweb.org. More information is also available from the association at 800 533-7694.
