The United States Department of Energy has launched a new web site (www.eere.energy.gov/financing) to provide comprehensive information on financial assistance programs available to businesses and other organizations for energy projects from the DOE Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE).
EERE works with business, industry, universities, and others to increase the use of renewable energy and energy efficiency technologies. One way EERE encourages the growth of these technologies is by offering financial assistance opportunities for their development and demonstration. In fiscal year 2004 alone, EERE awarded approximately $506 million in financial assistance to private sector organizations.
The site details the types of assistance available, how to apply for grants and other types of funding. A variety of documents used in the application process are available for downloading.
