Construction Spending Rises in November

January 4 U.S. construction spending rose 0.4% in November versus the previous month, the U.S. Census Bureau
Spending was at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of $810.2 billion for the month, which was 6% below November 2009.
During the first 11 months of the year, construction spending ran 10.6% below the comparable period in 2009.

- Spending on private construction in November was 0.3% above October.
- November residential construction spending was 0.7% above October.
- Nonresidential construction for the month was 0.1% below the previous month.
- Public construction in November was 0.7% above the October rate.
