New Energy Star 'Most Efficient' Rating Marks Best-in-Category


July 13 - For the first time, consumers can recognize the "most efficient" product among all products in a category that have been awarded the Energy Star rating.

The criteria vary for each product category, but products labeled as "Energy Star Most Efficient" all deliver, "exceptional energy performance," according to the U.S. Energy Star program.

Only some product categories include a "Most Efficient" rating this year. These include heating and cooling equipment, clothes dryers, televisions and refrigerator-freezers. Other product categories are planned to be added as criteria are developed.
