Mondale & Associates in Control of City Hall
Proctor City Hall Votes for iWorX

Mondale & Associates has landed the Proctor City Hall project with iWorX. They replaced an obsolete Honeywell 5000 System. With little support for the system, the owners and contractor wanted to replace the Honeywell system with a more user friendly option. That's where iWorX was voted in. "The simplicity of the user interface and the ease of putting this on the internet allowed the contractor and facility personnel to easily manage what had been an unmanageable system" stated Curt Mondale. The project consisted of 4 boilers, 5 VAV air handler units, 25 VAVI controllers and 1 CCU for the building's chiller system. This is a great project for Mondale & Associates as they carve market share in a major competitors back yard. Shawn Donovan has led the Mondale team in introducing the iWorX product line as iWorX champion. Great work by this rep agency!!!

University of Vermont Redstone Campus Project Completed
In conjunction with Pearson Engineering of Stowe, VT, Corey Merchant of Emerson Swan, along with Tim Doran, iWorX Northeast Regional Manager, completed the UVM Redstone Dormitory project. iWorX was selected over competitive products because of first cost, but more importantly, when a life cycle cost analysis is done, iWorX has a clear ownership advantage. With no firmware upgrade costs, and the ability to integrate with any existing control platform using the Taco GCI, iWorX was the perfect selection for the new campus dormitories. iWorX is controlling air handlers, a chiller plant, and multiple water source heat pumps. This is another clear example of the flexibility and simplicity of iWorX.

iWorX Northeast Summit Held at Innovation Center
One of Taco's first events in the new Innovation Center was a Northeast iWorX Summit lead by Tim Doran. Attendance was strong with thirty-two attendees over a two day period. Day One was "Tech Talk by Tom". Tom Polansky went over all of the controls and some common applications, do's, don'ts, inputs, outputs and a good bit of commissioning. Day Two had Tim Doran leading a discussion on existing and upcoming projects, successes, failures and needed improvements. In addition, Chris Integlia shared his vision for iWorX and Danato Borelli updated the group on New Product Development initiatives. Johnny White also came in to share his thoughts and to thank everyone for their contributions. All in attendance agreed that this Summit was extremely valuable and worth the time invested. Additional sessions are planned for the remainder of the iWorX sales reps.

Going to School with K.L. McCoy
The team at K.L. McCoy has partnered with Young Supply to provide an in depth introduction of Taco iWorX to their key contractor partners. The introduction and product training sessions will be headed by Ric Turmel, Taco's Southeast and Midwest iWorX Regional Manager. This is a great step forward for Taco, K.L. McCoy and Young Supply, as it broadens our collective market footprint and exposes iWorX to a new contractor audience. This will be a big help for all Taco products and will allow K.L. McCoy to package solutions to counter competitive pricing.

This Bud's for You!!!
After an initial training session with A. Waldrep Company, Inc. in Houston, several contractors were eager to put iWorX to the test. Mark Derryberry of Derryberry Mechanical elected to use iWorX on the Budweiser Distribution center project in the Houston area. With the help of Tom Polansky in design selection, Mark was able to provide his clients with a solution that was a fraction of the cost of what had been previously used in these facilities. More importantly, Mark has a good handle on controls and iWorX will allow his company to not only service equipment at the site, but the controls as well. This is a real game changer and a new profit center for this mechanical contractor. Congratulations to A. Waldrep Company, Inc. on your first iWorX win.

Innovation comes to Taco's new
Innovation and Development Center

You had to be there! Taco's inaugural event was witnessed by over 500 attendees. With Cranston temperatures at 103F and humidity at 90%, the focus was on Taco's chilled beam system. The chilled beams and iWorX performed beautifully! With all eyes on the ceiling to see if condensation was present, iWorX met the challenge with no problems. The work of Konni Mergner, Engineering Manager for iWorX, and vital input from Greg Cunniff, the correct control sequences were developed to assure that the chilled beam system operated at maximum performance, while handling all of the vital functions of controlling the LoFlo mixing blocks and monitoring humidity levels. Like radiant heating, chilled beam technology provides an enhanced comfort level with virtually no noise. The use of chilled beams is destined to grow, and Taco has taken the leadership position in this evolving market by providing a Total Solution for the proper functioning of chilled beams. This is a great market opportunity for all of our business partners. No one else is even close!

iWorX Goes Mobile
With the enormous growth of smartphones, the evolution of the iWorX "app" was a matter of time. Our iWorX application provides a customized interface to the LCI. Buttons and menu options have been made bigger and visually enhanced so that they can be more easily used on a touchscreen phone. Color modifications make the screen easier to view and manipulate. All system functions can be monitored and changed, and alarms automatically monitored through the smart phone interface. The current app runs on phones using the Android operation system. A version that will run on devices using the IOS operating system, like iPhones and iPads, is in development and will be released shortly. Taco has really taken the lead in re-defining the building automation control concept. The smartphone apps are another clear example of Taco's intent to be the technology leader in building controls.

Enhanced Literature and Application Assistance
In response to requests from our reps and field input we have gathered as we have expanded our installation base, we are in the process of providing expanded application literature for each of our controllers. As part of the product literature package, the new Troubleshooting and Application Guide will allow contractors to view point to point wiring, with a clearer description of the input/output configuration for each controller. We are all working towards making our customer experience as rewarding as possible. The entire iWorX team is working diligently towards this goal. This literature will also be posted on the web site, so be on the lookout for these enhanced application aids.

Projects In Progress
