K.L. McCoy Lands Prestigious Oliver House Project
A 100 year old building is being retrofitted with iWorX. The Oliver House in Detroit, MI is getting a controls makeover. Taco's iWorX controls and GCI (Niagara Interface) are being used to provide an energy saving controls solution for this historic structure. This project is part of an exciting program that K.L. McCoy has initiated in their market to showcase the power of iWorX in retrofit projects.

This project shows the application power of iWorX and Taco products. It's not only a great testimony to the progress of iWorX, but a great marketing tool for Taco sales reps. This valuable article should be part of your sales kit.

iWorX Sales Continue To Grow
We've quadrupled sales of iWorX this year, and manufacturing has responded. We're shipping in 5 business days! Quite a feat that has won the praise of customers. We've made every effort to meet customer ship dates to assure that projects are completed in a timely manner. The iWorX manufacturing and inside sales teams deserve a lot of credit for meeting the challenge.

iWorX Team Adds New Talent
As part of the continuing commitment to develop a strong controls capability, we've added key personnel in both our Engineering and Field Service Departments. These key personnel additions position iWorX for continued product growth and superior field support.

Eric Zweighaft has joined our software development team as a key software development engineer. Eric has a strong background in software development and provides iWorX with a unique ability to design new product applications that expand the product line to capture new market opportunities.

Keith Desrosiers has also been added to our engineering team and has been responsible for the implementation and integration of graphics into the

Niagara framework platform incorporated as part of our GCI product line.

Vic Pelletier, a well-recognized Niagara specialist and mechanical systems professional, has joined Taco as a Technical Services Field Application Engineer. Vic brings 40 years of field experience in HVAC and controls that provides iWorX with one of the most competent professionals in the industry.

New Field Service Request Form
In an effort to provide superior field support and a means for our customers to identify specific job issues and request factory field support, we have developed a Field Service Request Form (FSR). The FSR form is available on the Taco Website or through your Regional Sales Manager. All requests for field service must be routed through your Regional Manager for approval before field service can be scheduled. A simple and standardized means of requesting factory service is another significant advantage for iWorX customers.

Complete Line of Accessories Added to iWorX
To help ensure that project design and implementation are simplified, we have added a complete range of product accessories. iWorx's "System Matched" accessories allow single source responsibility for all project components and provide assurance that accessories are compatible with all iWorX controllers. Here's a sample of what's been added:
  • Duct Mount, Pipe Mount, Snowmelt and Outside Air Sensors.
  • Outside Air and Duct Mount Humidity Sensors.
  • Wall Mount and Duct Mount CO2 Sensors.
  • Differential Pressure Transmitters and Differential Pressure Switches.
  • Analog to Digital Staging relays, Transformers and SPDT 10 amp relays.
All of these devices are now on the latest Taco price sheet available on These devices will be integrated into the iWorX Wizard and Product Data Sheets will be available through the Wizard and on the Taco Website. All of this should be implemented in the next 4-6 weeks. "System Matched" accessories; another great addition to the iWorX product line.

Projects In Progress

Emerson Swan Takes Control At Fort Drum
Taco iWorX is the control platform of choice in the new Ranger Training area at Fort Drum thanks to the efforts of Andy Hickey of Emerson Swan. The Ranger Training area consists of ten "Multipurpose" buildings that are between 3000sqft and 4000sqft each.

The Army wanted a control system that they could take ownership of, one that was not proprietary and that did not come with the traditional annuities attached. iWorX fit their needs perfectly and is being specified on ten more buildings in the Ranger Training area. iWorX is also being incorporated into a master specification for these types of projects at Fort Drum.

A warm welcome to SAEG as our Latin American partner. Covering a number of countries in Latin America, SAEG has experience with Niagara AX products and provides a total system solution for their customers.
