Free Online Course Offers Green Building Primer


A free online training course on green building is being offered by the Green Building Initiative (GBI) at the group's website, www.thegbi.org.

The 30-minute course is designed to provide a practical understanding of commercial green building principles, practices and techniques, according to GBI. No registration is necessary and the course can be taken at any time on any computer with an Internet connection. No special software is required.

GBI is devoted to speeding the adoption of green building practices in both commercial and residential construction. It works with the National Association of Home Builders and various local homebuilder organizations in residential construction. For commercial construction it is the developer of the Green Globes assessment and rating system.

In addition to the online course, GBI offers a number of classroom courses. Information on these and other resources are available at www.thegbi.org.
